Norfolk and Suffolk have a plethora of great holiday accommodation, and for good reason. Both are wonderful counties in which to enjoy a holiday, with expansive beaches, gastronomic delights and wonderful tourist attractions to enjoy. As a holiday cottage photographer I have had great excuse to explore many of these great houses and cottages and it’s great to see what’s on offer to visitors to this region. A recent commission involved photographing two cottages in the beautiful and much sought-after town of Wells-Next-the-Sea. Wells has everything from perhaps the best beach in East Anglia, to great places to eat and beautiful scenery not to mention it’s great position for exploring not only the coast but also the interior of Norfolk for easy access to some of the best tourist attractions in the region.
This commission was to photograph a new holiday cottage, the very beautiful “Oyster Cottage” in Jolly Sailor’s Yard, Wells. The cottage itself is a testament to the hard work and tenacity of the owners of what will be a gem of a letting. On entering this property it is with disbelief that I found out that it hadn’t been inhabited for decades prior to it’s renovation. It is just splendid, great layout, wonderful interior decor and homely not to mention a great position just moments from the expansive salt marshes beside which Wells lies viewable from the front door.
In addition to producing images to be utilised on both a website for the cottage and agency websites listing the cottage, I also produced detail photographs that can be utilised on social media feeds. Particularly wonderful details were in abundance in Oyster Cottage and made for some great subjects that will hopefully be used on Instagram amongst other platforms.
The second cottage we visited on this occasion was “The Hideaway” which is situated again in a great spot in the town of Wells. At this property we were topping up on existing photographs of the cottage, incorporating new features, new decor, and a few different views. Again this small cottage was beautifully laid out for visitors ready to make the most of what the town and area had to offer.
Here are a few sample images from the session, if you’d like me to give you a quote for photographing your holiday letting please get in touch.
