Each year the local, schools, colleges and University campuses throw open their doors to prospective students and hold open days. Producing some photographs of part of such a day was my brief on this occasion for the Norwich Business School at UEA. As an event photographer I jumped at the chance to capture some images showing the interaction between lecturers, present students and prospective students and their families.
On this occasion we photographed lectures, and interactions but of course event photography takes in all sorts of activities from group work, to lectures, social space interactions and performances. To carry out some of the work on this day I needed to use the very highest standard of professional gear to capture images in very dark lecture theatres, and then needed the skills of looking for interactions and moments in the reportage photography of interactions, whilst also looking for wider angled shots to show space, branding and the size of an event.
Strong branding was prevalent at this event, and it was a pleasure to capture natural images that also contain easily obtainable brand graphics.
