I was really pleased to be able to attend the official book launch of Kate Blincoe’s “No-Nonsense guide to Green Parenting” at Jarrolds in Norwich last week.
Kate has been working hard on writing her book for the last few years drawing on her first hand knowledge of parenting and environmental issues. The book is wonderfully educative whilst not being didactic and presents the reader with a valid and healthy alternative way of thinking about bringing up children that combats the excesses of consumerism and our obsession with technology. In essence it guides us back to an organic way of raising children, arming us with an environmental awareness whilst offering us alternatives to increasingly unhealthy lifestyle and choices.
I was lucky enough to be asked by Kate and publisher Green Books to supply images for the book. The production of the photographs for the book was a year long project as there was a need to cover a year of seasons in the photographs provided. Regular sessions produced a great many photographs of activities, foods, products, ideas and environments featured in the writing of the book which was then brought together in a stunning modern design which makes for an even better reading experience supplemented with graphics, photographs and sketch drawings.
The process of producing the photographs was great fun and I’m sure the book will do wonderfully well. It was great to see the project to fruition and a talented and bright writer publish her first book. If you have a book for which you would like tailored editorial photography then don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Here’s a few photographs of the book being enjoyed and of the book launch itself.
