A recent holiday letting photography assignment saw me down in Suffolk near Sudbury photographing this lovely cottage in Little Henny for a Sawdays listing. I’d been recommended to the lovely owner by Sawdays themselves: probably because I’ve photographed a number of properties in East Anglia listed with them. It was a lovely cottage based around a Bell Tower and a wonderful choice for a couple particularly if they also have a canine friend who they’d like to bring along to a break in Suffolk’s Constable Country.
I photographed the property using both traditional camera, tripod and flash combination and a small lightweight drone. This allowed me to forego long poles and monopods with a camera on top and instead using the drone to obtain the higher viewpoints particularly useful in this case to capture a sloping garden area.
In my holiday property photography I like to show the interior space as effectively as I can, to not leave any corner unseen, to give the viewer a good look at the interior as a whole and not just the fixtures and fittings. To this end I shoot wide angle shots as a starting point and then move onto more detail shots as these often show the amount of love and thought that an owner has put into outfitting and designing a property interior. Lastly to illustrate that this is a dog friendly property we also utilised a very competent canine model to capture some shots of him enjoying the interior and fenced exterior space.
This is a beautiful property owned by some absolutely lovely people, if you have a chance to visit I recommend that you do!
