Working with local businesses is always great fun, as is finding out more about what they do whilst I’m taking photographs and setting up photographic gear. On a recent assignment I visited Nicholas Hancox Solicitors in Acle, Norfolk to talk Education, Highways and Local Authority Law, subjects in which Nicholas literally wrote the book or should I say books.
My brief on this occasion was to update some head shots of the solicitors at the practice in addition to adding some environmental portraits of the business. These were to be used in both brochures produced by the company and on their website and I was given a couple of hours in the morning to produce the desired images.
When I produce head shots I normally give the client a punchy image with plenty of contrast so that impact will not be lost in the publishing process and will make a good impression on a screen. I also produce the images in colour and black and white copies and this comes in particularly useful for web designers looking to produce an effect when a website viewer rolls over an image of a particular individual. What this allows for is for the image to turn either from colour to black and white or vice versa when the user rolls a mouse or a finger over the image of an individual. Head shots are particularly versatile images and can be used for social media, web sites, industry listings etc and to increase the versatility of the files I provide I usually provide head shots on a white back ground so that they can be incorporated into designs easily and with a minimum of effort.
In addition to the head shots I also looked for more relaxed poses for the solicitors concerned, on this occasion sat at a workstation and outside the premises. These images help to act as fillers for websites and brochures and can offer a more relaxed alternative to a head shot which is more environment specific. I also took some images of materials pertinent to the firms work again to act as website fillers and to make web pages filled with type softer and easier on the eye of your viewer.
I hope you like a sample of the images from this session, and if you have any education, highways or local authority law needs visit Nicholas Hancox Solicitors website . Give me a call about photography for business in Norfolk today.
